The most neglected of all instruments has come to take possession on this blog.
Bass players will probably know that no one really misses them, until they are not around. So let's give a small tribute to those groove-makers with a review of two genious bass players. You'll choose who is the best.
Marcus Miller
Better known for playing several years with legendary Miles Davis, Miller has been around quite a long time suprising us with his talented grooving abbilities.
Here´s a little video recorded on Lugano Jazz Festival (2008) where you can admire his impresive pluck technique.
Richard Bona
Inspired by the great Jaco Pastorius (whom you may call Your Highness), Bona was born in small town of Camerún and has quickly grown in the jazz world scenario. He has shared stage with Chick Corea, Brandon Marsalis and Raul Midon.
Compare his energy and pluck technique with Miller's.
